| Vicky started as a trials rider
at age 13 and turned to Motocross one year later. Aside from a few women's
events early in her career, she has raced exclusively in men's class events...
where the competition is considerably harder. Early in 1984 Suzuki UK saw
her ability and offered Vicky a full supported ride for the next two years.
In 1986 Vicky moved to California to compete in the men's intermediate class with backing from Honda through a dealer support ride. In 1989 Vicky's Motocross career came to an end due to a knee injury. The next three years were filled by getting married and starting a family. Late in 1994 Vicky's husband Tony suggested she try her hand at road racing in the 125cc F3 class as an attempt to fill the space left in her life now motocross was not possible. She went from never riding a street bike to placing eleventh at Laguna Seca (in the rain) for her first AMA National race, in less than four months. This result alone proves Vicky possesses that natural talent to compete at a high level.
